Who are we

Home Who are we

IPM is a leading Australian risk management consultancy specialising in Work Health and Safety, People and Culture, Workers Compensation, Asbestos and Occupational Hygiene. With a proud Tasmanian heritage IPM now works across Australia and New Zealand from our head office in Hobart. Vastly experienced, accredited by NATA and extensively qualified, all IPM consultants work in close partnership with our clients to achieve high value outcomes (not just providing reports and recommendations).

We are professional problem-solvers – we first seek out the “True Problem” then contain the problem’s symptoms with interim controls (we call this “stemming the losses”). We then enquire, measure, observe and investigate to learn and analyse what is the “True Problem” (the diagnosis or the root causes) before coming to the longer term “countermeasures”. We then provide partnership to achieve the desired and agreed outcomes – for more detail about our processes and capability see the How (hyperlink) pages.

Our foundation document for training our staff is called “How IPM People Work Best”. Three points from that document articulate something of “who we are”:

  • The most valuable asset we have is our depth of listening and our generosity of speaking.
  • Physical and psychological safety are at the core of our ability to enjoy life fully; being authentic and how we manage all our risks defines us as people, as professionals, as an organisation and as a social enterprise.
  • We recognise that we are all deeply interconnected with each other in the web of nature – so we treat each other, everyone and all of life with respect. Everywhere we go, we leave it better than we found it.

When you work with IPM, this is who you’re working with.
